Montmartre has been a haven for artists since the late 19th century, many of whom had studios at what is now the Musée de Montmartre. Painters such as Picasso, van Gogh, Géricault, Renoir, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec have all called Montmartre home. While you may not find a famous impressionist when you visit, you will find talented artists willing to draw you a portrait or sell you a freshly painted canvas.
